Botanical Blooms - You're Invited

Hello!

I hope all is going well in your valley! I have to say we are starting to tick of some boxes in our new home! Our Internet is finally up and running (3 weeks later!) and the kids seem to be settling in ok! We will have new flooring installed and that will be a whole different ball game!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I will be sharing some of the goodies that I will be creating for my soon to be 8 yr old's birthday party. We will be having a Hawain themed party at home and I'm quite pleased (so is my little girl) with the invite I came up with...

This will also be my entry for this week's Global Design Project Colour Challenge  - not very easy I tell you! Mr Brain King  was the designer behind this week's challenge!

What do you think?!

This week's Global Design Project Challenge!

I started with the NEW (and awesome!) Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper.

My Product List

Hints & Things

  • This may look like a lot of work... It was so easy with the Botanical Blooms Bundle! I kept the actual invite very simple by only stamping a few tropical leaves from the Botanical Blooms stamp set on to Whisper White thick card stock. This way I will be able to finish all invites in no time!
  • For this colour challenge my starting point was Designer Series Paper (DSP) - I went through my stash to find DSP that matched at least one of the challenge colours and it work for me (this time!).
  • Shape the flower petals and leaves in the palm of your hands before adding them to your base.
  • I used an old biscuit/cookie envelope as a template for my envelope. I keep a file with all sorts of boxes and pouches that I might like to use in future, for example just this morning I took apart this one for future use:

It is not too difficult to get the measurements from this and make your own version!

Well I am very happy with myself! Please let me know what you think - I would love some comments from you!

I hope the rest of the week treats you well!

Take care!

Mel xx

  1. That is a fantastic Hawaiian themed invitation Melodie! I only hope you don't have to make too many as there is a lot of die cutting on this gorgeous card, lol. You have used the colour challenge well! Thanks for playing at Global Design Project with us this week.
