Touches of Texture ft Thoughtful Banners - Thank you

Yay! I get to add this badge from Global Design Project challenge #gdp046 for this card!

Hello!

Today (Friday in my world - Yay!) I will be sharing my take on this week's Global Design Project Challenge #gdp046! This week it is a sketch challenge by Teneale Williams!

Teneale's beautiful sketch.

I love the combination of Old Olive, Sweet Sugarplum and Kraft!

Add a hint of Gold and Voila!

My Product List

Notes

  • I almost always use the Whisper White Thick Cardstock for my card base. I create my card front and then once finished adhere it to my Whisper White base. I like the sturdiness of this cardstock and I also like that my sentiment on the inside is on a white surface.
  • The image was heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss powder and then coloured by using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen as a brush (lifting the ink from the lid).
  • For a tiny bit more interest on my Kraft layer, I heat embossed part of the image with Clear Stampin' Emboss powder.
I simply love the way this card turned out! Let me know what you think!

With a lot of rain forecast for this week end, I hope to spend most of my time in my craft room!

Take care!

Foxy Friends ft Cottage Greetings - Happy Birthday

Hello!

In my previous post I also shared a Foxy card that we made in my Stampin' with Mel Cardmaking Class! Today I share another card made with the Foxy Friends Bundle! The bundle includes the Foxy Friends stamp set and the Fox Builder Punch! If you buy them in a bundle you save 10% on both items' purchase price!

Only a few more days before Bonus Days run out! If you add the Cottage Greetings stamp set to the Foxy Fiends Bundle you will have enough to earn a $9 Bonus Day coupon that you can use in August! This promotion only runs until 31 July '16!

Simple sketch? Yes, but sooo cute!!

A Delicate White Doily peeking out adds a feminine touch to the card! Add Melon Mambo instead of Bermuda Bay to go totally girly!

My Product List

Notes

  • The Delicate White Doilies are very delicate! I found it worked well for me to add adhesive to my cardstock and then to adhere the doily to that - adhesive (like snail, etc will tear the doily)! A liquid adhesive will work best I think!
  • I keep on thinking this suite will work very well for party invites!

Foxy Friends ft Cottage Greetings - Thanks

Hello Stamper Friends!

Finally, after almost a year without running classes, I was able to start my Stampin' with Mel cardmaking classes in our new area (Jindalee, Western Australia)! I cannot describe the excitement I felt before my class! I absolutely love sharing my gift of making handmade cards with others! I love Stampin'Up! How can I not? Stampin' Up! makes it really easy for their demonstrators! Beautiful, quality products and lots and lots of training resources! All we do is add people!

Today I'm sharing one of two cards that the ladies created in last week's class! I have to be honest though, after two weeks out of the country, I relied a lot on Pinterest and my Stampin'Up! resources for both these cards! A great tip is to find some sketch inspiration on Pinterest!

The A Little Foxy Suite (p 56 of the Annual Catalogue) is such a cute ensemble and although put together to welcome new baby, I think it can work for any occasion.

With out any further delay...

Cute and simple card for beginner stampers!

Some piercing adds interest to my layer.

Notes

  • Such an easy card - you can make a lot in a short amount of time!
  • I used my Paper-Piercing tool to create more interest and to frame my little fox!
  • The Cottage Greetings stamp set is a perfect start for your greeting collection. The set includes a Thanks, Happy Birthday and Congrats sentiment in a really pretty font!
Be on the look out for the second card from last week's class! Why not follow me via e-mail? That way you will know when I post a new card and never miss out on Stampin' Up! Promotions! Just leave your e-mail address in the follow by e-mail box!

Take care!

Pretty Kitty - You make me happy

Hello!

And I earned a special mention for this card from the Global Design Proct #gdp045... Thanks guys!

After a wonderful two weeks spent with my loved ones in South Africa, I am very happy to be home!! Still trying to get into things though... Lucky for me nothing inspires like a Global Design Project Challenge! This week (#GDP045) it was a colour challenge!

I knew before hand that I wanted to use the Pretty Kitty stamp set (being a cat mom) and this made the challenge very difficult for me... To colour one of these pretty images using only three colours??!! I decided to keep it really simple (no difficult water colour techniques here!). I also wanted to keep it CUTE and GIRLY (being mom of a girl too!). I might just get into trouble... there was that time that Charlize changed my I phone wallpaper (a photo of Harry our tabby) to a photo of her..

Next time I will make kitten a little tabby cat!

Pretty blossoms to make the White space more interesting! And a teeny, tiny butterfly wing coming off the page!

My Product List!

Notes

  • I love using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on Shimmery White cardstock. It is very easy to pick up the ink with the Clear Wink of Stella Brush from the lid of my Classic Stampin' Pads (you can find another example HERE).
  • I stamped part of the image (the little butterfly) on a piece of scrap Shimmer White cardstock, cut the little wing out and adhered it partially over my main image.
  • To fill up the empty White space I used Delicate White Doilies and punched blossoms from the Tree Builder Punch.
Doesn't this card make you feel happy! I really had fun creating it! Please leave your compliments (I mean comments)! at the bottom! I love hearing from you!

Take care!

Rose Wonder - Happy Birthday

Hello!

Today's card is dedicated to Tracey, not because it is her birthday but because she is my blog conscience! Thanks Tracey!

A similar card to this one! No excuse to make a quick birthday or thank you card!

So easy with the beautiful Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper!

Notes

  • I like adding ink to my Textured Embossing Folders! Here I added Mint Macaron to the Floral Affection Textured Impressions Embossing Folder! It adds even more dimension to the embossed image.
  • Don't forget to remove any static or oily residue from your card stock with the Embossing Buddy - I promise it makes all the difference!
  • To add more layers to my cards and also to make my greeting pop,  I love adding Vellum!
A quick birthday card! Change the greeting and you have a card for almost any occasion!

I hope to catch up soon! Tonight we fly to my country of birth, South Africa! I cannot wait to see my family!

Remember to make some time for crafting! I will be posting our travels on Instagram - feel free to follow on Melodie1973!

Take care!
