Party with Cake - Happy Birthday! With a few Sneak Peeks!

Hello!

I'm lucky enough to have not one, but TWO unwell kids at home today!  We are soldiering on though and for now I am able to add a few posts!

We are so close to saying farewell to our current Annual Catalogue  - click HERE  to see what products will be retiring on the 31st of May, because once they're gone , they're gone!!

Today I'm once again taking part in the Global Design Project #036 CASE the Designer challenge! Paula Dobson created a beautiful card this week and I was inspired by so many features... one of them the colour combination! Well more or less, I used Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron!

This card has no owner yet and I would so love to send it to someone for their upcoming birthday! If you want, leave your details and it might just be you!

Sneak Peek! The shiny Designer Series Paper I used for the background, some perfect layering and the beautiful petals...

What beautiful inspiration! Thank you Paula!

See that shine?! Coming soon!

And a closer look...

My Product List

(I cannot add the Sneak Peek products yet, but if you spend between $50 and $249 and use the Hostess Code for May, I can send you the NEW Catalogue  to drool over until they become available 1 June '16)! Remember if you Join the Party between now and May 31st  you can order pre-order products as part of your Starter Kit!

Hints & Things

  • Don't forget to always use your Embossing Buddy before heat embossing! I promise it makes all the difference, especially when heat embossing on dark card stock, Vellum and with White embossing powder!
  • Ink up those Embossing Folders! It adds even more value to those already beautiful Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.
As always I thrive on your comments! Let me know what you think! And Pin away!!

Also don't forget to actually mail or hand over those Birthday, Thinking of You and Thank You cards you create! We have to bring Snail Mail back - one card at a time!

Take care!

Memories in the Making - I'll always remember

Hello!

How amazing is to be part in your kids school activities! I am so fortunate to be a stay-at-home-mom,! Both Charlize and Chris have a part in the school play (Annie) and I am so lucky to be part of it also (helping with the building of props!)... What an amazing process! However this has kept me away from my beloved card making (tears)... Lucky being a part of the Stampin' Up! family makes my office hours quite flexible!

Well I am also very happy that my brother is celebrating his 40th birthday today! Finally! It felt like ages (I am 3 years his senior)! Welcome Vic!

The Global Design Project challenge for this week is Project Life Theme and I am so proud to share these pages to celebrate my brother... he definitely is the World's Greatest Uncle (and brother)!

I love how Project Life makes the photo's do the talking! And in a question of minutes!

You can add as much as you want... it is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

My Product List

Hints & Things

  • I started by selecting the photos and then the Project Life cards. What an amazingly fun process! All the Project Life cards are amazing and the same goes for the accessory packs!
  • You can keep it as simple as you want or you can add as much detail as you want!!
  • I loved going through my stamp stash to find the words I needed to add to my pages!
  • Don't forget to check out the Retiring Product list before you miss out! The Memories in the making Suite will be retiring at the end of May! All retiring items are only available while stock lasts!
Before I go....

I love using Project Life to decorate my planner!

An extra hole or two in the pockets and Voila!

I hope I have inspired you to dip your toes into Project Life! Honestly as a card maker I find it the quickest way to memory keeping!

Take care!

One Big Meaning - A Little Thanks - Kylie Bertucci's Blog Highlight for May!

Hello!

Today I'm sharing my card entry for Kylie's Blog Highlight for May! Please hop on over and have a look at all the lovely inspiration and to vote for your favourites (hint! hint!)! The voting process is very easy! Just click on the the little heart in the corner! Thanks to Kylie Bertucci for this amazing opportunity to show case our creations and our blogs!

I love creating cards for all occasions, but Thank You cards are by far my favourite! To me a Thank You card is like sending everlasting flowers! This card is long overdue!

I was very much inspired by the Butterfly Basics card I created for the Global Design Project #033 Colour Challenge!

A Little Thanks goes a long way...

My Product List

Hints & Things

  • To stop glitter and embossing powder from sticking where it is not supposed to, I wipe over my cardstock with my Embossing Buddy before adding the adhesive, glitter or the embossing powder!
  • I cut two of the rose and leave thinlits (one in Cucumber Crush and one in Melon Mambo) and trimmed off the leaves from the Melon Mambo piece, before adhering it with a 2-way Glue Pen (this is just one of our Retiring Products that I will really miss)!
  • To hide the adhesive on my Vellum, I first adhered the rose (with the Glue Dots placed in the bigger areas) to the Vellum and then the Vellum layer to my glitter layer. This way I know where to hide my Glue Dots.
  • Basic Black cardstock makes the Gold embossed sentiment pop!
  • For a soft sparkle I used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush pen on the rose die cut.
I love everything about this card! Please let me know what YOU think by leaving a comment!

Take care!

Crazy About You - You Rock

Hello!

Today I'm happy to take part in another Global Design Project challenge! This week it is another beautiful sketch by Teneale Willams - Sketch Challenge #034!

This card will go to one of my long time customers! Her orders are delivered directly to her house and I don't always get to thank her with a card!

I had sooo much fun with this card!

Teneale's inspiration.

The retiring Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder adds sparkle to my main sentiment. What will I do without it?!

My Product List

Hints & Things

  • I die cut the Bloomin' Heart Thinlits die from craft foam and used this as my stamp. I adhered the foam piece with a removable adhesive onto a stampin' block. The heart was heat embossed with White Stampin'  Emboss Powder.
  • To finish my background I used a broad flat brush to paint over the embossed heart. For this I used Pacific Point and Bemuda Bay ink. I also splattered with Rich Razzleberry over the back ground.
  • Before I die cut the Thanks thinlit, I painted a piece of Watercolor Paper with Rich Razzleberry, and although not very visible, I also added Bemuda Bay in the mix! I always layer up on my intricate dies to make them more sturdy.
  • To anchor my greeting, I used as always... Vellum! Gotta love the stuff!
I wish you all the best for the rest of the week!

Take care!
