Butterfly Basics - Sending Wishes your Way

Hello!

What can I say? With school on again, I had to carve out time this week for my cardmaking! I hope to be back in the swings of things next week! Today - rather late than never - I am sharing my entry for this week's Global Design Project Challenge #033! This week it is an exciting colour challenge!

At the moment I'm working on my Birthday Cards for the month of May, so this card will be going to someone special celebrating their birthday soon!

My take on the colour challenge!

Love the colour combo, but boy did I struggle!

In the end this card was worth it!

My Product List

Hints & Things

  •  I adhered strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive onto the Night of Navy cardstock (after using my Embossing Buddy) and then added the Gold Embossing Glitter. I pressed the glitter into the adhesive and the used a cloth to wipe away any excess glitter.
  • For my sentiment (on Watercolor Paper) a colour washed the paper with Sahara Sand Ink using an Aqua Painter - also adding some splatter with the Aqua painter.
  • A tip would be to first adhere the rose die cut with Glue Dots to the Vellum and then more Glue dots to add the Vellum to the navy and Gold card. This way you can "hide" the Glue Dots.
I would love some feed back! Let me know what you need to see on my blog!

I will be sharing a similar card as an entry for Kylie Bartucci's International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight!

If week-end is around the corner for you? Enjoy!

Take care!

It's my Party Designer Series Paper - Punch Art Mouse Gift Bag

Hello!

Only two more days before school starts again! I had so much fun spending time with my two little ones, but I do believe I'm ready to let them go back to school!

Today I'm sharing this little Gift Bag with you! Inside I put a voucher for the recipient to buy his choice of Wireless Mouse! This to me was a very good reason for some punch art! I normally prefer stamping to punch art, but this little mouse is super cute!

Some of the products that I used are on the Stampin' Up! Retiring Product List and only available while stock lasts! So I would say hop on over to my Side Bar and Click on the Going, Going, Gone! image to see what other products we are saying good bye to! Don't forget to add April's Hostess Code (for orders less than $250) when you shop online! This way I get to thank you with a mystery gift! For details on how the Hostess Code works, CLICK HERE ! The code for April is MXEDMGCD !

This is way past cute!!!

Rose Wonder Ft Brushstrokes - What a Beautiful Blessing you are to me.

Hello!

I hope you are having a beautiful day wherever you are! In Jindalee Perth, Western Australia) we are blessed with yet another beautiful day! Today I'm sharing my entry for the Global Design Project  #032 CASE the Designer Challenge! The very talented Krista Frattin from Stampin' Dolce (also part of Stampin'Up!'s Artisan Design Team) will be the designer that we are CASE-ing this week! I LOVED everything about her design and CASED more or less all of it!

This card will go to my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day! I did sent her a Spoiler Alert message yesterday!

I fell in love with the Rose Wonder stamp set and  coordinating Rose Garden Thinlits Dies!

Krista's perfect inspiration! Can you blame me for CASE-ing almost everything!

The Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder is on the Retiring Product List  and I WILL be using it on all my cards from now to the end! So sad about this! ALL Retiring Products are only available while stock lasts - don't miss out! Use the Hostess Code for April (MXEDMGCD) to earn a mystery gift from me!

My Product List

Hints & Things

  • The beautiful Pink rose and Green leaves were created with Rose Red ink, Wild Wasabi ink and an Aqua painter onto Watercolor Paper (122959). Just press out a tiny bit of ink into your lid, squirt some water onto it and paint with your Aqua painter. Because I'm impatient, I used my Heat Tool to dry the watercolour quickly!
  • The Petite Petal flower was coloured in the same way.
  • I also cut an extra layer of the rose and leaves to adhere to the Watercolor paper this makes the embellishments stronger!
This is it! Ask away if you have any questions or comment if you like what you see!

I hope you get to spend some time with your crafty goodies today!

Take care!

Monthly Hostess Code

Hostess Code for November 2016
AVZMNAYW

Why a hostess code?

If you add a Hostess Code with your online orders (orders above $50), it gives me the opportunity to send you a mystery gift after the months online orders have closed. The more online orders are placed using the month's hostess code, the more I can spend on your mystery gifts! So be sure to tell your crafty friends!

How to use the Hostess Code?

It is very simple! Go to Shop Now and start placing your online order! Be sure to check that you have chosen me - Melodie Viljoen- as your demonstrator and add the Hostess Code to your Online Order even before you start adding your products!

When NOT to use the Hostess Code?

Do not add the Hostess Code if your Online Order is more than $250! Stampin' Up! will give you the opportunity to choose your own free products before you close your order!

Any more question?

E-mail me! I would love to answer any of your questions!

I'm looking forward to doing business with you!

Garden in Bloom ft Petite Petals, Teeny Tiny Sentiments - Happy Mother's Day

Hello!

I love using Stampin' Up! products to create wrappings, bags, boxes, etc... this time I created a lovely 'wrap around' for The Bodyshop 50ml Body Butter (love the stuff)! This is a great Mother's Day gift idea and it goes beautifully with the Mother's Day card in my previous post!

Sooo pretty!

So, so pretty!

I love the look the Rose Red water colour wash adds to the Gold Embossed flower!

My Product List

Hints & Things

  • I really love my Stampin' Trimmer! I was able to cut and score with this one amazing tool! I have never felt the need for any other paper cutter!
  • It is very easy to make this wrap around for The Bodyshop Body Butter, you can of course choose your own brand or any size tub and make it work for you! It was so much fun to decorate it!
Next up is my amazing Mother-in-Law's card and gift! I'm sooo excited to be inspired by her colourful personality! Also the Retirement List will be posted tomorrow - don't miss out!!!

Take care!

Helping Me Grow ft And Many More - Best Mother Ever

Hello!

Here in Jindalee (Perth, Western Australia) it is my favourite kind of weather! Outside it is wet and inside nice and cozy! At the moment I'm working on my Mother's Day projects - this year this special day falls on Sunday the 8th of May '16.  Mom loves Pink, so be warned!

Not too much Pink, I hope!

The Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack is so beautiful and just perfect for Mother's Day!

My Product List

Hints & Things

  • It was really easy for me to build a background with the beautiful Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack - all the patterns coordinates perfectly!
  • After heat embossing the "best mother ever" sentiment with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder I used an Aqua Painter dipped in Rose Red Classic Ink (126954) to add a colour wash  - it really makes the Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder stand out! And of course it adds a touch more Pink!
  • As always I had to add some sequins (from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit) and a strip of Gold Glimmer Paper for the necessary bling!
Don't miss out on my very special gift wrapping for The Bodyshop's Body Butter! Follow me by e-mail! You will never miss a post!

I hope I have inspired you to make something Pink for your Mom this Mother's Day!

Take care!

Grateful Bunch ft Crazy about You and Party with Cake - Happy Birthday

Hello!

Before I created and posted my Nature themed entry for the Global Design Project #031 challenge, I created this card! Same products (more or less) but totally different look! Let me know what you think!

Everybody loves butterflies!

I think the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen was made for Butterflies!

My Product List

Hints & Things

  • I used my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to lift the ink from my Classic Stampin' Pads to colour my punched Elegant Butterfly (coordinating stamp set Papillon Potpourri, 132058 forgot to link in my product list!) The pen is not damaged in anyway and you can clean the tip by wiping it off on paper or use a damp cloth! It truly gives a lifelike shimmer to the butterfly!
  • The rest of the card I kept simple because of the strong Black and White theme!
  • Always plan where you put the adhesive on your Vellum - I always hide it behind a layer if I can, otherwise I use a strategically placed Glue Dots!
Thanks for your time! No go make some cards!

Mel xx

The 19th of April '16 will see the last of Stampin'Up's Weekly Deals promotion - do not miss out on these!

Don't miss out on these! You will be sorry if you do!

Party with Cake - Happy Birthday! (1)

Hello!!!

It is school holidays here by us (Western Australia) and for now I love having my two home! They are both a little bit under the weather but with movies keeping them occupied,  I have some time to work on this week's posts!

When the Global Design Project Challenge #031 posted their Nature Themed challenge this week, all I could think of was Black on White Butterflies! Easier said than done, because working in Black and White is not my strongest point! Well I stuck to my guns and this is what I came up with...

Definitely inspired by nature!

A Pink color pop!

My Product List

Hints & Things

  • I used StazOn Jet Black Ink to stamp on the Vellum, it dries quickly on a non-porous surface.
  • To add dimension I cut a few extra layers Designer Series Paper with the Bold Butterfly Framelits.
  • Rich Razzleberry ink and the Pink sequins from the Love Blossoms Embellsihment Kit add a pop of colour to the Black and White card! A little bit of Metallic Gold Thread adds some extra sparkle.
As easy as that! As always I welcome your feedback!

Take care!

Party with Cake - Happy Birthday!

Hello!

Once again a quick share! My son will be 10 tomorrow! At the moment he is totally into Pokemon and I had to create a Poke-ball card for him! This card was the easiest thing to create - especially if you have the Circles Framelits Die from Stampin' Up on hand! Last year it was a Captain America Shield!

I normally create a square card when working with bigger circles!

You can always add ink to your Designer Series Paper!

My Product List

  • This card is so simple but I know my boy will love it!
  • I stamped Happy Birthday on the Black Brushstrokes of the Go Wild Designer Series Paper to add a little extra interest.
  • The beautiful bigger sequins are from the Cottage Greeting Card Kit  - I love sequins!
There you go! Maybe an idea for the Pokemon person in your life?

Take care!

I love adding Kraft Cardstock to Black & White!

Teneale's beautiful inspiration!

The BIG (literally)Two One!!

My Product List

Hints & Things

  • I simply love the Typeset font from the Party with Cake stamp set greetings - I used Typeset Designer Series Paper for my Large Number Die-cuts and thought that they worked well together!
  • To make the 21 pop, I applied Crystal Effects to the numbers and after waiting a few minutes, sprinkled a tiny bit of Silver Glitter over the Crystal Effects! What an amazing sparkle!
  • Piercing the Star and the Kraft strip helps to add interest!
I love the finished product! Let me know what you think!
